FATHER GLEN’S THOUGHTS….. Make friends for yourself with your wealth so that when it fails you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings. Our Lord’s advice in our Gospel this Sunday reminds us that we should be generous with our wealth in this life, so that we will experience the generosity of the Lord in the next life. We must not be afraid to respond to needs around us that are genuine, lest our thriftiness cause our Lord to withhold his blessings from us. The measure that we measure to others will be measured back to us. This weekend is the festival at Holy Cross. I urge everyone in our tri-parish to come and join in enjoying this gathering and supporting a sister parish. When we all come together as one, we have a very great effect, one for all, and all for one. Come and be part of the Northeast Catholic community in action. Each parish’s festival is a celebration for us all. Father Glen Jenson, Pastor |

SPECIAL COLLECTION FOR OUR CATHEDRAL - Our beautiful Cathedral of Saint Paul requires everyone’s help! Please consider a sacrificial gift for this collection to assist with the remaining $11.9 million for emergency exterior restoration as well as the need for $14 million to repair interior damage. Many thanks to all those who generously contributed to last year’s collection to care for our Mother Church. All gifts received in this special collection will be designated and restricted to the restoration needs of the Cathedral. Envelopes for this special collection on September 25-26 will be available at the doors of the church and checks should be made out to the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. You can donate online at this site: www.cathedralheritagefoundation.org/donate. Archbishop John Ireland relied on every Catholic’s support to build this great monument of faith and so we need everyone’s support now to preserve it for future generations. For information, please call the Archdiocesan Development Office at 651-291-4500. |
