Text Box: MESSAGE FROM
FATHER JENSON

Our Gospel this weekend speaks of the suffering that Jesus will have to undergo from the leaders of the people. Peter objects that this should never happen to him. It is natural to never want someone that we love to know suffering, pain and loss in their lives. Jesus shows that even the Son of God endured these things in his life on earth, therefore, these things can happen in our lives too. Following Jesus does not promise that nothing can ever happen to us. It does mean that He will provide meaning to these things in some way in our life and promises that there will be something even better that awaits us no matter what befalls us here.

Next weekend is the Fall Festival at Holy Cross. I hope that lots of parishioners from all three parishes will be there. Our church festivals are a blast in Northeast. This weekend is All Saints Festival as well. Lots to do for fun in September in our parishes.

This Sunday afternoon, Sept. 13th, there will be a family Adoration Hour at Holy Cross. This month I am hearing the confessions and leading the Benediction. Come and discover the wonderfully calming effect of Eucharistic Adoration for yourself and your family.

This Monday, Sept. 14th, is our Parish Feast Day - the Exultation of the Holy Cross. We will have a special Mass at 6:30 PM. This Mass is for blessings on all the people of our parish. There is also a special indulgence for offering prayers for the intentions of the Pope at a church on its patronal feast day. Come and honor the holy cross of our Lord Jesus, and pray for our parish and for its zeal in faith.

COFFEE & DONUT SUNDAY - We are hosting a Coffee & Donut Sunday TODAY after all morning Masses in Kolbe Center. This is a great opportunity to stop down and visit with fellow parishioners.

SPECIAL COLLECTION FOR OUR CATHEDRAL - Our beautiful Cathedral of Saint Paul requires everyone’s help!  Please consider a sacrificial gift for this collection to assist with the remaining $12.7 million for the emergency exterior restoration.  Many thanks to all those who generously contributed to last year’s collection to care for our Mother Church.  The Cathedral Heritage Foundation has been established to address our Cathedral’s pressing restoration needs.  All gifts received in this special collection will be designated and restricted to the restoration needs of the Cathedral.  Envelopes for this special collection on September 19-20 will be at the doors of the church.   Info. 651-228-1766.
