Text Box: MESSAGE FROM
FATHER JENSON

In our Gospel this weekend we hear the Lord Jesus being spoken of as having done all things well. This weekend is also Labor Day weekend. In our work we find a way to fulfill ourselves as human persons, men and women seeking to feel that we make a difference through our life’s work. Work in the church’s teaching, is a way to share in the work of our God who is the creator. In our work we share in God’s work, though in a small way. By doing so we find meaning for our lives and a sense of pride in what we have done and how well we have done it. Working is a direct way to express our nature as children of God made in his image. By everyone trying to do their best at their work, at home or beyond it, mankind has an effect on the world that God created for us in order to enable us to be like him, by working like him. During these tough economic times we pray that God will help those who are without work, to find the assistance that they need to survive until the economy revives, and to maintain their sense of self-worth while they seek meaningful work.

The Fall Festival is coming up at Holy Cross on Sept. 19/20. Fr. Glen will have two raffle items which he is personally involved in providing. You might want to stop by and see what’s up.

Special Mass for the Blessed Mother: Tuesday, Sept. 8th is the Feast of the Birthday of Mary, the Mother of Jesus. There will be a special Mass at 7:00 PM at Holy Cross, part in Latin, part in English, along with the use of the beautiful high altar for the liturgy of the Eucharist. Light refreshments follow in Kolbe Hall.
