Wow - our Festival is only three weeks away!
It is time to get busy...time to donate!!

The raffle ticket counters appreciate receiving your ticket returns as early as possible.  However, tickets can be turned in up until the day of the drawing.

Prizes, prizes, prizes are needed.  Bring in those theme baskets, “Big Wheel” gifts, 2 liter bottles of soda, “Silent Auction” items, “Bushel of Cheer” bottles, “Mystery Gifts”, “Kiddie Games” prizes, etc. as soon as possible.  Everybody’s help is needed.

Pickles (commercially prepared) are needed for the Chicken Dinner.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY - Here is your chance to use your skills (sew, crochet, knit, fleece tie or sew labels) and be a part of this great ministry.  Join us on Tuesday, August 30th at 6:30 PM in the Parish Library.  If you would like to work at home, stop by a meeting and see the shawls and get copies of prayers, patterns/ideas and guidelines.  If you would like more information or have questions call the Parish Office at 612-789-7238 or Mary at 612-379-4090.

CITIZENSHIP CLASSES - Learn U.S. History and Government for the Citizenship Interview!  Saturday morning 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, September 10 to October 15, 2011 or Nov. 29 to December 10, 2011.  Classes meet once a week for 6 weeks.  Cost of materials is $20.  Please register by calling 651-647-0191, ext. 0.  Classes are held at the International Institute of Minnesota, 1694 Como Avenue, St. Paul.

EAST SIDE OLD TIMERS - The East Side Old Timers Organization invites all past and present sponsors, athletes and anyone who engaged in sports activities in northeast and southeast communities to their annual stag event.  The 57th Stag reunion will take place on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 6:30 PM in Kolbe Center.  Tickets available from members $5.00 and $6.00 at the door the evening of the event.  Don’t miss this opportunity to meet old friends.

MINNESOTA TEAM HANDBALL - Minnesota Team Handball is a sports club that practices on Thursday nights at the YMCA Midtown Minneapolis (location also goes by the name of Minneapolis Sports Center) located at 2121 E. Lake Street.  Practices are on Thursday nights from 7 to 9 PM.  We have players from ages 14 to 65.  We do play competitive games against other clubs from around the region. Our first games are in September in Minneapolis.  Team Handball is an Olympic Sport.  The best way to describe the sport is basketball, with a lower net to shoot.

MARIAN PILGRIMAGE - Come join us for a Marian Pilgrimage to Our Lady of Good Help in Green Bay, Wisconsin on Monday and Tuesday, October 3-4, 2011.  This is the first shrine of a Church approved apparition in the United States where many conversions and healings have taken place.  For more information/reservations and brochure please call 612-872-2700.


ATTENTION PARENTS!!! - Our Faith Formation and Confirmation Classes will be starting soon.  Both classes will be on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 PM in the school building. 


Faith Formation is for students in grades 1-8 who do not attend Pope John Paul II School.  See Sister Donna to register for class.


Confirmation Class is for all high school youth.  Registration forms are available at the Parish Office.
