OUR HOLY CROSS CAMPUS took a couple of hits of lightening during the storm on August 1.  Sister Benita actually saw a bolt of lightening pass her. Damage included the telephone system, security in church, a portion of the organ, some of the lights in church and the lightening surge protection in church.  Earlier this year another storm caused damage to the convent, school, church and rectory roofs.

NEW ROMAN MISSAL

The Roman Missal, Third Edition, the ritual text containing prayers and instructions for the celebration of the Mass, has been approved by the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.  First use of the new text of the new Roman Missal will be on the First Sunday of Advent, November 27, 2011.

The English translation of the Roman Missal will include updated translations of existing prayers, including some of the well-known responses and acclamations of the people.  Times of change are always a challenge.  But from this challenge can come a deeper appreciation of who we are as the Body of Christ, gathering to celebrate the Paschal Mystery of the Lord.
