THANK YOU!

My 50th Jubilee celebration is a cherished memory!  Much gratitude to Father David for offering the Mass and for the festivities.  Thanks to all for your prayers, kind words and gifts.  I am indebted to those who prepared and served the reception.

The flowers on the altars and the photo-prayer cards - gifts from the Kozlak-Radulovich Chapel - were also greatly appreciated.

God reward you all.  I will remember you in prayer!

Text Box: BULLETIN CONNECTION

The real presence of Christ in the sacrament of his body and blood is a belief to which Catholics adhere. When we receive communion, we truly receive Christ under the forms of bread and wine. Our sharing in the Eucharist unites us ever more closely to Christ and one another.

St. Augustine told the faithful “Receive what you are, become what you receive” (Sermon 272). It was his shorthand way of saying that the body of Christ extends beyond the Eucharist that we receive. Those who share in communion are to become the body of Christ out in the world.

It is a challenge to all of us. The bread and wine at Mass truly become Christ, whose body and blood we receive. The remaining hosts are reserved in the tabernacle, also the real presence of Christ, to be taken to the sick and to be adored. But through our communion we become no less that the real presence of Christ beyond the walls of the church building because he remains in us, and we in him.
