RECOGNITION!
Even though society might condemn her, Mary recognized that her pregnancy was a gift of God, meant
to make visible His love for the world. And she proclaimed it as such to her intuitive cousin, Elizabeth:
My being proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God, my savior.
How is the Spirit of God being manifest in your life?
Does your spirit rejoice in God? Ask Mary to share her joy with you.

UPDATES FROM FATHER DAVID
Our sympathy to Father Andrew
Salapata on the death of his father, Jaroslaw. We remember Father Andrew in our
prayers as well as his mother and two brothers in Poland. Cards of sympathy may
be sent to the rectory. Father Andrew will return August 18.
Father Edward Wojtowicz is moving
this week to Our Lady of Good Counsel Cancer Home. He thanks everyone for their
cards, gifts, prayers and concern and asks everyone to keep up the "good
works." Father Ed's address will be:
Father Edward Wojtowicz
Our Lady of Good Counsel Home
2076 St. Anthony Avenue
St. Paul, MN 55104
It has been suggested that we cut
back on the number of missalettes. We presently order 700 and the average Mass
attendance is around 200 people. Starting in November the order will be reduced
to 500.
Tuck pointing work is complete on
the rectory, convent and garage. Some tuck pointing will be done on the
retaining wall in front of church and on the seven sanctuary windows which are
showing signs of water damage. Work is also scheduled for the rewiring of the
center and side chandeliers in church, installation of new ceiling fans, and the
opening of the lower stained-glass windows in the church for ventilation.
