FATHER GLEN’S

THOUGHTS…..

In our Gospel this Sunday the Lord walks on water as he approaches the boat the apostles are sailing across the Sea of Galilee in.  Peter is moved to test him to make sure that it is the Lord.  Peter at first is able to walk on the water but then begins to be afraid when he realizes what he is doing and begins to sink.  When we are troubled or in need, the Lord will carry us just as he enabled Peter to walk on water when he needed to learn to trust the power of Jesus.  When Peter began to doubt that he could be doing this he began to sink.  We need to be able to trust in the power of God and that he can carry us through our troubles and strife and never doubt him.

This weekend is the festival at St. Anthony’s.  When we gather as Catholics to share fellowship and to support each other’s parishes we build up the church in our local community.  Come to the festival this Sunday!

This Thursday evening I will be leaving to work at a Cursillo Retreat at St. Elizabeth Seton Parish in Hastings.  All services will be as usual except the St. Anthony Saturday morning holy hour and 8:30 AM mass which will be cancelled during my absence next Saturday, August 13th.

We welcome Fr. Jan Michalski who has moved in at Holy Cross and will begin assisting at masses in our tri-parishes.  Please give Father a warm Northeast Welcome.

Our summer intern Deacon Albert Wugaa will begin to make his farewells as he prepares to return to the seminary on August 15th.  He will be missed!  May God bless him in his final year in seminary preparing for ordination to the priesthood next spring.

Text Box: EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

In June a beautiful procession was held to give adoration, praise, and thanksgiving to our Eucharistic Lord. It stopped at many of our Northeast Catholic Churches for prayers and adoration. The same Eucharistic Lord is in our Adoration Chapel awaiting a visit from the people who took part in the procession. Give the Lord Jesus an hour each week.

Open hours: Monday 11:00 AM; Tuesday 10:00 AM; Noon, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, 4:00 PM; Wednesday 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 4:00 PM; Friday 4:00 PM and Saturday Noon. For more information call 763-784-1317 or 612-781-4806.
