OUR GARAGE SALE IS ONLY TEN DAYS AWAY!  We need your help for the August 16, 17, 18 Holy Cross Garage Sale.  Do you have good, useable items around your house that you no longer need?  Can you donate a box, a couple of bags, or a couple of boxes of things you no longer use to the Garage Sale?  Take a few minutes and gather up items in your home.  We are unable to use clothing, TV’s or furniture.  Bring your items to the garages behind the Rectory weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or before Mass on the weekends. FALL FESTIVAL MEETING this Tuesday, August 8th at 6:30 p.m. in the Pioneer Room.  All Chairpeople and those interested in helping at the Festival are asked to attend this meeting.

September 16 & 17!

Here are some ideas of what can be done now:

Buy and/or sell your Festival raffle tickets.  Win great prizes!  If you need more tickets, they are available at the Rectory weekdays.
Make items for the Fancy Booth - crochet, knit, carve, paint, holiday ornaments, etc.
Start collecting (searching) for donations of “mystery gifts” for people of all ages for the Parcel Post Booth.  Useable items for this booth are needed.
Think of where you want to volunteer your time to work.  We need and would like lots of volunteers.
Design a theme basket for the Arts and Crafts Booth.  Pick a theme and fill a basket with theme items.

EXCITING SUMMER CONFERENCE to be held August 11-12.  Stirring Up Faith” is the theme for the Annual Regional Conference by the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Office, to be held at Totino Grace High School in Fridley.  Featured speakers are: Father John Jordon and Maria Vadia.  Both travel extensively nationally and internationally, and are truly dynamic.  On-site meals and childcare are available.  No registration fee, but freewill offerings will be taken throughout the conference and pre-registration is requested.  Call now for more information 612-721-2543.  This is a conference to renew your faith in the power of God.

FUN FEST 2006 - Immaculate Conception, 40th and Jackson St. N.E. in Columbia Heights, is having their annual Fun Fest on Saturday, August 12th from 4:30-10:30 p.m. and on Sunday, August 13th from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  There will be live music under the Big Tent, Fabulous Food, Beer Garden, Silent Auction, Country Store, Pull Tabs, Bingo, Kiddie Games and much more.  Over $6,000 given away in raffles.  All are invited.  For more information call 763-788-9062 ext. 213.  To kick things off this year a Cribbage Tournament will be held on Friday, August 11th in Fellowship Hall.  Register 6-7 p.m., games begin at 7:00 p.m.  Cash prizes, refreshments, open to the public.
