Text Box: MESSAGE FROM
FATHER JENSON

Our Lord Jesus is our true bread from heaven as we hear in the Gospel this Sunday. In Jesus we can find the strength that life demands of us to more than merely survive, but to thrive. Bringing the message of Jesus to others is one way that we become part of his saving mission in this world.

Next Sunday we will have our summer mission appeal from the Piarist Fathers who minister especially to youth in Appalachia. Please be as generous as you are able in supporting their mission efforts through the second collection next week.

In our own way we have been ministering to our local youth through our first ever Vacation Bible School for our Catholic Parishes in Northeast. Some forty children and almost twenty volunteers have been working and playing together this past week as we presented our faith in Jesus in fun and creative ways. It has been a blast not only for the kids, but for us who have been helping as well. I have discovered, however, that hanging around with a bunch of kids for three hours straight every morning is very exhausting. I don’t know how you parents do it sometimes.

My thanks to everyone involved in Vacation Bible School. You have made a difference in the lives of our children in bringing Jesus to them in new and fun-filled ways that will help them to connect to Jesus more easily. God bless you for sharing the gift of your time and talents with our kids!

It is Polka Daze at St. Anthony’s this Sunday! Come and enjoy!!!

Father Glen Jenson, Pastor
