Text Box: THE HOLY CROSS FALL FESTIVAL WILL BE HERE IN LESS THAN TWO MONTHS September 18 & 19 Here are things that can be done now: Pick up you Fall Festival Raffle Tickets at the University entrance to Church. Think of where you would like to work. We need and would like lots of volunteers. The “Kiddie Games” area needs new chair couples. It’s a great spot for families with children. The Flea Market also needs a chair person. Design a theme basket for the Arts and Crafts Booth. - Pick a theme - Baby’s Here, Tailgating, Off to College, etc. and fill a basket with items relating to your theme. Make items for the Fancy Booth - crochet, knit, carve, paint, holiday items, etc. Questions? Call the Rectory weekdays at 612-789-7238.

TWIN CITIES POLISH FESTIVAL will be August 14 & 15, 2010 along the Mississippi River on Old Main Street across from Riverplace & St. Anthony Main.  Sat. 10 AM to 10 PM and Sunday 11 AM to 6 PM.  Experience “All Things Polish” and celebrate and explore the Polish heritage and culture that is a vibrant part of Minnesota.  Festival includes traditional Folk Dance & Music, Folk Art Demonstrations, Food Market & Beer Garden, Na Zdrowie! 5K Run, Chopin Celebration, etc.  Information: www.tcpolishfestival.org

POLKA DAZE - St. Anthony of Padua Annual Polka Daze Festival, TODAY, August 1st on the parish grounds, 813 Second St. N.E.  It will begin with a Polka Mass at 11:30 AM and continue on the grounds until 5:00 PM.  The event includes cash drawings, food, door prizes and live Polka Music with the Dick Macko Orchestra as well as games for children and adults.

IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH 4030 Jackson Street N.E., Columbia Heights Annual 2010 Fun Fest Summer Jam Thursday, August 5, Friday, August 6, Saturday, August 7 and Sunday, August 8.  Fun Fest includes great food, beverages, spectacular silent auction, merchant tent, kid’s games, bingo, pull tabs and much more!  Everyone is welcome to join in this community event.  For more information, go to www.immac-church.org or call 763-788-9062.

ANNUAL PARISH FESTIVAL at St. John the Baptist in Dayton on Saturday, Aug. 7th, 7:00 - 11:30 PM with a street dance, refreshments and pull tabs and Sunday, Aug. 8th with a Broasted chicken dinner served from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM.  Food, refreshments, country store, silent auction, bingo, children and adult games, theme baskets and much more from 11:30 to 4:30 PM.  763-428-2828.

A PLANNING MEETING FOR THE HOLY CROSS FALL FESTIVAL is scheduled for Thursday, August 6th at 6:30 PM in Kolbe Center.  The meeting is open to all chairpersons and parishioners.  We are always looking for good ideas and volunteers.  Needed: Chairpersons for Flea Market and Kiddie Games.  Both areas are well established and have good volunteer support.  You can do it!!

DEVOTIONS - First Saturday Devotions will be held this Saturday, August 7, at Holy Cross at 7:45 AM with praying of the first three decades of the Rosary and Mass at 8:00 AM.  After Mass devotions will continue with praying of the final two decades of Rosary, prayer and meditation.

CHURCH FESTIVAL - Church of SS. Cyril and Methodius, 1315 Second St. N.E. Church Festival, Sunday, August 15th.  Polka Mass at 10:30 AM.  Music by Twin City Soundz.  Festival - 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM.  Food, Games, Raffle and much more.  Everyone welcome.

CITIZENSHIP CLASSES - Learn U.S. History and Government for the Citizenship Interview!  Saturday mornings 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM, September 11 - October 16, 2010 or October 30 - December 11, 2010 (no class Nov. 27).  Classes meet once a week for 6 weeks.  The cost for materials is $20.  To register please call Corleen at 651-647-0191, ext. 307.  Classes are held at the International Institute of Minnesota, 1694 Como Ave in St. Paul.
