is September 15 & 16

Here are some ideas 
of what can be done now:

Pick up your Raffle tickets in the back of Church.  Buy and/or sell them.  More available at the Rectory.
Make items for the Fancy Booth - crochet, knit, carve, paint, holiday ornaments, etc.
Design a theme basket for the Arts and Crafts Booth.  Pick a theme - Toys, Tools, Tickets, etc. - and fill the basket with related items.
Start collecting (searching) for donations of “mystery gifts” for people of all ages for the Parcel Post Booth.  Useable items for the booth are needed.
Think of where you would like to volunteer your time to work.

GARAGE SALE DONATIONS NEEDED!  We need your help for the August Holy Cross Garage Sale.  Do you have good, useable items around your house that you no longer need?  Please donate those items to the Garage Sale.  We are unable to take clothing, TV’s or furniture.  Gather up your items and bring them to the garages behind the Rectory weekdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  For information 612-789-7238 weekdays.  If you would like to  volunteer to help, call Roger at 763-572-1713.  Thank you!

POLKA DAZE - St. Anthony of Padua Annual Polka Daze Festival is Sunday, August 5th on the parish grounds at 804 - 2nd Street N.E.  The Festival will begin with a Polka Mass at 11:30 AM and continue until 5:00 PM.  The event includes cash drawings, food, door prizes, and live Polka Music with the Dick Macko Orchestra as well as games for children and adults.  For more information call 612-379-2324.

IRISH FAIR - Archbishop Harry Flynn invites you to celebrate an outdoor mass on Harriet Island in Saint Paul, August 12th at 9:00 AM.  The service is part of the 2007 Irish Fair and features Irish songs, Irish dancers, readings in Gaelic and English.  Festival activities continue after mass including a full performance by the Celtic Tenors at 2:00 PM.  Admission is free.  Enjoy this wonderful opportunity to spend the day with your friends and family.  More festival details at www.IrishFair.com.

DESSERT WITH MARY - Church of Saints Peter and Paul MOMS (Ministry of Mothers Sharing) invites women of all ages and stages to join them for Dessert with Mary.  As we prepare to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption, enjoy dessert and learn about Mary as a mother, sister and friend.  The evening retreat is 6:30-9:00 PM on Monday, August 13th at the Church of Saints Peter and Paul Parish Center, 145 Railway Street East, Loretto, MN.  Cost is $7.00.  To register call Angie at 763-477-6678 by August 9th.

FALL FESTIVAL MEETING - There will be a Fall Festival Meeting on Tuesday, August 7 at 6:30 PM in the Pioneer Room.  All Chair people and those interested in helping at the Festival are asked to attend this meeting.

ANNUAL FUN FEST - Immaculate Conception Church, 40th & Jackson St. N.E. in Columbia Heights is having their annual Fun Fest 2007 on Saturday, August 11th from 4:30 to 10:30 PM and Sunday, August 12th from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.  Live Entertainment Under the Big Tent - “Bob and the Beachcomers” on Saturday and “Vic Tedesco Band” on Sunday.  Fabulous food, beer garden, silent auction, country store, pull tabs, bingo raffles and more.  For information call 763-788-9062.
