ATTENTION TEEN AND ADULTS - Jeff Cavins’ Bible study, The Great Adventure: A Journey Through the Bible, is coming to Holy Cross this fall on the second and fourth Sunday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.  This program is offered in a two-year time frame from October to March.  Registration ends September 8.  To register call 612-789-7238 weekdays.  For more information about The Great Adventure, go to  Holy Cross will have two bible study groups starting this fall.  It is recommended that you do The Great Adventure first and The Adventures of Matthew second.

Here are some ideas of what can be done now:

Make items for the Fancy Booth - crochet, knit, carve, paint, holiday ornaments.
Start collecting (searching) for donations of “mystery gifts” for people of all ages for the Parcel Post Booth.  Useable items for this booth are needed.
Buy and/or sell your Festival raffle tickets.
Design a theme basket for the Arts and Crafts Booth.  Pick a theme and fill a basket with items relating to your theme.
Think of where you want to volunteer to work.  We need and would like lots of volunteers.

HOST FAMILIES - Homes are needed for two Polish women from September 12th to October 4th.  Host families need to speak Polish and willing to open their home to these women to help make their stay in Minnesota a pleasant one.  All necessary transportation will be provided for the women; there is limited money available to help defray the cost of meals.  The women can be hosted together or separately, however, we would prefer they stay with one host home for their entire stay.  Please call Steven at 612-822-2322 for more information.

FESTIVAL - JULIFEST (Yu-Lee-Fest) at St. Mark’s Church, 3rd Avenue and Atwood, Shakopee, July 26 and 27, 2008.  Festival opens Saturday 5:30 PM - Craft Sale, Bake Sale, Beer Garden, food and beverages.  Free street dance 7:30-11:30 PM.  Sunday 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM.
