Text Box: BULLETIN CONENCTION

The disciples were sent out by Christ to preach repentance. They cast out demons and anointed the sick. Their preaching and their ministry were effective.

It is tempting to look back on those days when Jesus walked the earth and to think that the disciples back then had an "in,” that in some way the fact they spoke with the Lord made their efforts more efficacious.

But through the centuries the Church has proclaimed that Christ is truly present in the community of faith. The Christ that sent out the disciples in 1st century Galilee is the same Christ who guides the missionary activity of the Church today.

We’re not off the hook! Christ is still giving us a mission. We may not be wearing sandals, but we are still called to preach.
