THE HOLY CROSS “RUMMAGE SALE” (former Garage Sale) will be August 6, 7 & 8 - Wednesday through Friday.  Donations are needed!  Bring good, useable items that you no longer need.  Perhaps you can donate a box or a couple of bags of things you no longer use.  No clothing, TV’s or furniture.  Bring donations to the garages behind the rectory weekdays 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  Questions?  Call 612-789-7238 weekdays.

Here are some ideas of what can be done now:

Make items for the Fancy Booth - crochet, knit, carve, paint, holiday ornaments.
Start collecting (searching) for donations of “mystery gifts” for people of all ages for the Parcel Post Booth.  Useable items for this booth are needed.
Design a theme basket for the Arts and Crafts Booth.  Pick a theme and fill a basket with items relating to your theme.
Think of where you want to volunteer to work.  We need and would like lots of volunteers.

SAVE ALUMINUM CANS - Please continue to save aluminum cans.  The monies raised from the recycling goes towards the “Church Painting Fund” and your help is appreciated.  Bags of aluminum cans (pop and beer only) can be put in the containers by the doors of the church or the garages behind the rectory.

VOLUNTEER DRIVERS NEEDED! North East Senior Citizen Resource Center - You can help a senior neighbor.  Volunteer opening for drivers - flexible schedule - once per week, twice per week, once per month, every other week - you choose your schedule on a weekly basis.  Drive a senior to an appointment Monday-Friday during the day.  Pick up seniors in Northeast Minneapolis, Southeast Minneapolis, lower Columbia Heights and Saint Anthony Village and drive them to appointments.  All volunteers are screened.  Call 612-781-5096 to learn more.
