COME AND CELEBRATE THE GREAT GIFT OF ADOPTION -  All adoptions and people involved with them are none other than the handiwork of God.  Come and celebrate the gift of adoption!  The Archdiocesan Office for Marriage, Family and Life cordially invite you to join us for the Annual Mass in Celebration of Adoption.  The Mass will be held on Monday, August 10th at 7:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 6 Interlachen Rd. in Hopkins, followed by fellowship.  For more information or to volunteer, call 651-291-4488.

 A DAY OF RECOGNITION - A Day of Recognition and Honoring for Birth Mothers will take place at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on July 18th, 2009.  This special event is for all mothers who placed their child for adoption, and will include presentations by professionals, small group discussions, healing rituals and a Mass.  The day seeks to provide an opportunity for birth mothers to recognize the pain that can sometimes still be carried, honor the sacrifice of their choice, and provide opportunities for healing. Text Box: THE HOLY CROSS FALL FESTIVAL IS September 19 & 20 Here are some things that can be done now: Design a theme basket for the Arts and Crafts Booth. Pick a theme - Fishing, Leisure Time, Back to School, etc. and fill a basket with items relationg to your theme. Make items for the Fancy Booth - crochet, knit, carve, paint, holiday ornaments. Start collect (searching) for donations of “mystery gifts” for people of all ages for the Parcel Post Booth. Useable items for this booth are needed. Think of where you would like to work. We need and would like lots of volunteers. Help plan and run the Festival Silent Auction. Questions? Call the Rectory weekdays at 612-789-7238

THE HOLY CROSS “RUMMAGE SALE” will be August 5, 6, & 7 - Wednesday through Friday.  Donations are needed!  Bring good, useable items that you no longer need.  Please, no clothing, TV’s or furniture.  Bring items to the garages behind the rectory weekdays 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  Questions?  Call 612-789-7238 weekdays.  Thank you to all who have donated thus far.

RURAL LIFE SUNDAY CELEBRATION - Mark your calendars for this year’s Archdiocesan Rural Life Sunday celebration on July 26th sponsored by and held at the Church of St. Paul in Zumbrota.  Beginning at 8:45 AM, it includes the Eucharistic Liturgy of the Sunday and a creation blessing with Bishop Piché.  Following family-fun activities will include a country style breakfast, activities for children, a petting zoo, and a farmers market (proceeds to a local food shelf).  All are welcome.  For a map and directions, go online to www.archspm.org and look for the Rural Life Sunday link, or call 651-290-1647.
