IN THREE MONTHS it will be 25 years since the first Society of Christ priest came to Minneapolis.  Society of Christ for Polish Immigrants is a religious order founded in 1932 by Cardinal August Hlond.  Priests and brothers from this order work throughout the world serving not only Polish immigrants.  Here at Holy Cross we will celebrate this anniversary by giving thanks to God for their dedicated work at our parish.  On Sunday, October 8, 2006 at our 11:30 Mass the solemn Eucharist will be celebrated.  After Mass there will be a banquet in Kolbe Hall.  Our celebration will honor invited guests: Archbishop Harry Flynn who will preside, General Superior of Society of Christ Father Tadeusz Winnicki, Provincial of North American Province Father Andrzej Maslejak, and all Society of Christ priests who have worked for Holy Cross.  Tickets for banquet are available in the Parish Office.  Cost for the ticket is $35.00.  All parishioners are invited.

Text Box: OUR FALL FESTIVAL WILL BE HERE BEFORE WE KNOW IT! September 16 & 17 Here are some ideas of what can be done now: Pick your Raffle tickets up in the back of church. Buy and/or sell them. More are available at the Rectory weekdays. Bring items for the Flea Market to the garages behind the Rectory Monday thru Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Make items for the Fancy Booth - crochet, knit, carve, paint, holiday ornaments, etc. Start collecting (searching) for donations of “mystery gifts” for people of all ages for the Parcel Post Booth. Useable items for this booth are needed. Think of where you want to volunteer your time to work. We need and would like lots of volunteers. Design a theme basket for the Arts and Crafts Booth. Pick a theme - Stamping, Christmas, Baby, etc. - and fill a basket with items relating to your theme. Questions? Call the Rectory weekdays 612-789-7238.

THE ST. ANTHONY COMMUNITY THEATER invites you to see the Broadway classic The Music Man.  Everyone will enjoy this timeless musical, showcasing great community talent.  The Music Man is All-American family entertainment at its best.  Performances will be July 27, July 28 and 29, at 7:00 p.m. and July 30 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Anthony High School Auditorium, 3303-33rd Ave. N.E., St. Anthony Village.  Tickets are $7 in advance or $8 at the door.  For more information call 612-789-7228 or visit the website at www.sactheater.org.

ATTENTION TEENS AND ADULTS: Jeff Cavins’ bible study, The Great Adventure: A Journey Through The Bible, is coming to Holy Cross this fall twice a month on Sunday evenings from 7:00-9:00 p.m.  This program will be offered via video in a two-year time frame, from October to May.  Sign up for this program which will begin in August.  For more information about The Great Adventure, go to www.thebibletimeline.com.

AUSTIN’S CHURCH 41st Avenue North between Thomas and Upton in Minneapolis will be having a Pig Roast and Rock Concert on Saturday, July 22nd, 2006 5:30-9:00 p.m. (after 4:30 Mass).  Menu includes: Pork Roast sandwich, coleslaw, trimmings and coffee or milk.  Adults $7.50 and Children $3.00.  “Classic Rock” Concert 7:00 p.m.  Free will offering.  Opening Act - “The Shockers’ and Feature Group - “No Hot Ashes.”  Outside, weather permitting.
