Text Box: MESSAGE FROM
FATHER JENSON

As we move into the summer with its more restful days we are reminded in the psalm at mass this Sunday that we should be praising God, “I will praise your name forever, my king and my God.” The warmth and sunshine of these longer summer days gives us many reasons to rejoice and give thanks to God. I remember how we longed for warmer days as June began and a cool spring seemed to never become summer. Now we have summer and good reason for gratitude in our hearts. Most of all, those who have their health have so much to be grateful for and to gives thanks to God for. I rejoice to be healthy enough to be out in nature more as I ride back and forth between St. Anthony’s and Holy Cross on my new bicycle that I got last week. You notice things more when you are outside on a bike and not inside a car I’m realizing. Notice the blessings in your day and give thanks for them to the one who has blessed you and cares for you all your days, our loving God. The very word Eucharist means thanksgiving to God. May we be a Eucharistic people this summer.

Also, my heartfelt thanks to the many people who greeted me at Holy Cross last Sunday as I offered masses there for the first time as pastor. I had a great time. It’s always a blessing to get to meet more of the people of God. This summer promises to be a real blast, with both a new parish and a new bicycle, what more could you ask for!
