THE HOLY CROSS “RUMMAGE SALE will be August 3, 4 & 5 - Wednesday thru Friday.  Please save your “good stuff” for the parish rummage sale.  Almost everyone has things that take up space and are never used.  No clothing, TV’s or furniture.  Donations can be brought to the garages behind the rectory weekdays 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  Questions?  Call 612-789-7238 weekdays.
Text Box: HOLY CROSS 125th ANNIVERSARY Approximately 70 “Hall of Faith” 125th Anniversary Plaques are now hanging on the wall by Kolbe Center. Take a minute to stop and look at this unique tribute to the history of our parish and our loved ones. Order forms are available at the doors of the church. Invitations to the Anniversary Banquet on Sept. 11 will be mailed the first week of July. All parishioners and friends of the parish are invited to the celebration. The Holy Cross Church 5 x 7” note cards are available at the parish office weekdays for $1.00 each. Text Box: THE HOLY CROSS FALL FESTIVAL WILL BE HERE IN MONTHS September 17 & 18 Here are some things that can be done now: Design a theme basket for the Arts and Crafts Booth - Pick a theme - Picnic, Back to School, Cookie Making, Off to College, etc. and fill a basket with items relating to your theme. Make items for the Fancy Booth - crochet, knit, carve, paint, holiday ornaments, etc. Start collecting (searching) for donations of “mystery gifts” for people of all ages for the Mystery Gift Booth. Useable items for this booth are needed. Think of where you would like to work. We need and would like lots of volunteers. Questions? Call the Rectory weekdays at 612-789-7238.

FESTIVAL SILENT AUCTION ITEMS - We need your help!!  If you think of or come across an item that would be good for the Silent Auction at our Fall Festival, please remember your church.  Start collecting items now.  If you have questions, please call the Parish Office weekdays at 612-7897238.

WIDOWS RETREAT - Our Lady of Grace in Edina is hosting a Widows Retreat on Saturday, July 9, 2011, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Mass 8:00 AM).  Cost is $10.  The theme of the retreat is Hope Rekindled: Widows Day of Reflection.  The retreat will feature keynote speaker Johnette Benkovic, nationally known author of several books, founder of Women of Grace a Catholic apostolate for Christian women and the executive director and producer of the Abundant Life seen on EWTN.

SILENT RETREAT FOR WOMEN - A silent midweek retreat for women will be held at Christ the King Retreat Center in Buffalo, Minnesota on July 12-14, 2011.  The retreat begins on Tuesday, July 12 at 2:00 PM and concludes on Thursday, July 14 at 12:45 PM.  The theme of the retreat is Jesus Heals Our Darkness.  Call 763-682-1394 for a registration form and more information.

CONFIRMATION CLASSES BEGIN THIS FALL - Confirmation preparation classes will begin in September for all Northeast high school youth 9th grade and older.  Classes will be held on Wednesday night at the Pope John Paul II school building.  Candidates in this will be confirmed on April 19, 2012.  Registration forms are available at the parish office weekdays.  For information please call the parish office weekdays at 612-789-7238.

Windows in rectory and convent.

Snow Blower which is beyond repair.

 

Our needs are many and our resources limited.
