ADORATION CHAPEL CLOSED - The Adoration Chapel will be closed on Monday, July 4th in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.  The Chapel will reopen on Tuesday, July 5th at 8:00 AM.

            

FATHER GLEN’S

THOUGHTS…..  

 

In our Gospel this Sunday Jesus tells us that he reveals the Father to us.  He does so to give us hope and peace of spirit in our life and struggles on earth.  During these summer days we should seek to find Jesus in our daily living so that we can be renewed by God who wants us to experience his love for us.  Each sunny day that makes us want to head outside and revel in it, is a reminder of the goodness of God.

 

I will be away on vacation this week beginning on Tuesday, July 5^th until Wednesday, July 13^th.  Services will be held as scheduled while I am away.  I will pray for you all while I relax and refresh on the North Shore.

 

Next Saturday, July 9^th the 8:30 AM mass at St. Anthony will be cancelled while I am gone.

 

Next Sunday, July 9 & 10,  there will be a missionary in our  tri-parishes for the annual summer mission appeal.  Please be generous.

PETER’S PENCE COLLECTION - Thank you for your generous support of the essential work of the Holy Father and his charitable acts through the Peter’s Pence Collection.  Our contributions will be combined with those of our brothers and sisters around the world to help Pope Benedict reach out to those in need.  Your generosity will help to cast Christ’s peace upon the world.

PARISH OFFICE CLOSED - The Holy Cross Parish Office will be closed on Monday, July 4th in observance of the holiday.  The office will reopen on Tuesday, July 5th at 8:00 AM.

MISSION APPEAL Weekend at Holy Cross July 9 & 10 - The Catholic Diocese of Same (pronounced SAH mee), is located in the northeastern part of Tanzania, in the Kilimanjaro Region.  Tanzania itself is located in the eastern part of Africa.  Same is the headquarters of the diocese, is a town of 17,500 located approximately 65 miles from Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa.  The diocese of Same has a population of 500,000 people, of which 45 percent are Christians, 35 percent are Muslims and 20 percent follow traditional African religion.  The Diocese of Same has been requested by the villagers of Mabillion to help them build a medical clinic.  We would like to ask you to participate with us in the building of this clinic.  The people themselves will supply all of the unskilled labor; we only ask for help with building materials and medical supplies.  This is an opportunity not only for you to share your resources with some of the poorest people in the world, but also for you to build the body of Christ in Africa.

THANK YOU - Thank you to the volunteers at this year’s VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL.  Thank you to Laura Humphrey for her leadership in organizing this program for the children.  Thank you to everyone who contributed snacks and supplies.  This past week over 80 youth participated in the program and now have a deeper understanding of their one true God.  Thank you to everyone who helped make this Vacation Bible School a success.
