FATHER GLEN’S THOUGHTS….. This weekend we celebrate the wondrous gift of the body and blood of our Lord Jesus present for us in the Eucharist. This is an amazing gift from God to remain with us in the very humanity of Jesus’ own body and blood to nourish us in holiness to be images of God in the world. This feast was instituted in the 13th century to help Catholics reflect on the wonder of this sacrament which we can take for granted because we receive communion every Sunday and even during the week at daily mass. We can never fully appreciate what a gift we have from God in the Eucharist. On this feast may we seek to receive the gift in the spirit to be able to appreciate this incredible gift with ever increasing devotion. May our lady who gave Jesus Christ the human body we receive in communion when she conceived him by the power of the Holy Spirit help us to seek this devotion. Mary Mother of Jesus, pray for us! The Northeast Vacation Bible School is taking place this week at Holy Cross. Pray for our children that they may have a delightful encounter with their faith through this program. Angels please watch over them! Father Glen Jenson, Pastor |
