Text Box: BULLETIN CONNECTION

There are times in everyone’s life when the difficulties and vicissitudes of human existence can seem to be overwhelming. Just like the disciples in today’s Gospel, we might cry out, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?”

Whether it is illness, relationships, financial hardship, or family problems, there comes a time when we might cry out to God for help. And sometimes it is very clear that God has heard us (just like in the Gospel) and other times it may seem as though God has never heard us at all (as in the first reading from Job).

Of course, one way or the other, God responds. God does care that we are perishing, and God saves us.
