Father's Day Prayer God our Father, you govern and protect your people and shepherd them with a father's love. You place a father in a family as a sign of your love, care, and constant protection. Happy Father’s Day! Blessings to all Fathers, Grandfathers, Step-Fathers, Godfathers and Fathers-To-Be! |
OFFERTORY COLLECTION - June 12, 2011 Sunday Collection - $5,635.35 Thank you! |
ST. PETER’S PENCE - Next weekend our diocese will take up the Peter’s Pence Collection, which provides the Holy Father with the funds he needs to carry out his most charitable works. The proceeds benefit the most disadvantaged: victims of war, oppression, and natural disasters. Through your generosity, we can cast the peace of Christ upon the world. |
RURAL LIFE SUNDAY CELEBRATION - The Archdiocesan Rural Life Sunday celebration is next Sunday, June 26th sponsored by the Parish of St. Mary in New Trier and held at the Gergen farms. Beginning at 1:30 PM, it includes the Eucharistic Liturgy of the Sunday and a creation blessing with Bishop Piche presiding. Following, there will be family-fun activities including a dinner (free will offering accepted). Join parishioners from the St. Mary Parish community and others throughout the Archdiocese to pray, remember, and celebrate all the good things God has given us in our rural way of life. All are welcome! For a map and directions, please go online to www.archspm.org and look for Rural Life Sunday link. |
FATHER GLEN’S THOUGHTS….. This weekend we celebrate the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity. Having honored Jesus Christ throughout the Easter Season, and the Holy Spirit last Sunday on Pentecost, the feast brings it all together as we honor our triune God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We worship one God who in the mystery of his divinity is somehow three persons while remaining only one God. God is a within himself a community of love, the Father’s love for his only Son, the only Son’s love for the Father, and their mutual love which is the Holy Spirit. God is truly love, and he calls us to be pure love as well. May we all take up this challenge in our daily lives and thereby bring love into our world which so desperately needs it. May our Lady help us to remember this challenge to be love for the world. Mary, help of Christians, pray for us. This weekend is also Father’s Day. Our dads bring us love in a very unique way that compliments the love that our mothers give us. To all our dads we give thanks for the strength and commitment to taking care of us that you give us throughout life. May God richly reward all our Fathers this weekend. You deserve the attention guys! This week most of the priests of the Archdiocese will be in Rochester from Monday until Thursday for our bi-annual priest assembly. Note the bulletin to see when daily mass might be replaced by Word and Communion services in our tri-parishes. Our summer Deacon Albert Wugaa will be leading those services when they are scheduled to replace a daily mass. Everyone try to be good while father is away! Father Glen Jenson, Pastor |
