Text Box: MESSAGE FROM FATHER JENSON

Jesus is moved with pity in our Gospel this Sunday as he sees the crowds that have come to listen to him because they were troubled and abandoned like sheep without a shepherd. Jesus established the church so that we would never have to feel abandoned. He gave his life on the cross for us and so called others to follow in his steps to serve his people. We are never alone in spirit, and in the church we should never be able to feel alone, if we will allow ourselves to reach out to others, and if we will welcome those who reach out to us. May we always follow the example of Jesus and reach out to the newcomer, the lonely. Jesus will give us the strength to do so if we ask him sincerely.

The Eucharistic Procession last Sunday was a wonderful experience with some four hundred people taking part, joining in at the various churches along the route and filling the streets of Northeast with praise of our God with us in the Blessed Sacrament. Come and join us next year. As we gave glory to God last week in the procession, may he give blessing to our Fathers this weekend as we honor our dads on Father’s Day weekend. May God pour his strength into the men who have been the stronghold of our lives. Happy Father’s Day guys.

Next Saturday there will be no holy hour and 8:30 AM mass at St. Anthony as Father will be away visiting family in North Dakota and returning later that Saturday evening. The weekend services will be as usual.

Next Sunday, the 22nd of June, we will have the semi-annual Eldercare Memorial mass at St. Anthony at 11:30 for those who have lost loved ones who were residents in Eldercare in the last six months. Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord and may perpetual Help shine upon them.
