MESSAGE FROM FATHER JENSON This Sunday we honor the gift of the Lord Jesus present body, blood, soul, and divinity in the Eucharist, the Most Blessed Sacrament. This solemn feast dates back nearly eight hundred years to the thirteenth century when the Church developed a sense that there needed to be a special day to celebrate the Eucharist which we offer and receive each Sunday at mass as the magnificent gift that it truly is. It is so easy to take for granted those things which we do regularly. This Sunday we step back and relish the fact that our God has made himself present in our midst, here and now, not only hereafter in heaven. In the Eucharist, it is as if the Lord has truly come again, even as we await his coming in glory. Jesus is truly come and is in our midst always, until the end of time, right now in the Eucharist. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory for his gift of his living presence among us in the Eucharist. May our Lady always assist us in appreciating what a gift we have in the Eucharist. Mary, Mother of our Eucharistic Lord, pray for us. Eucharistic Procession: Today Sunday, June 14th, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, is the 5th Annual Northeast Eucharistic Procession. It begins at Holy Cross and ends at All Saints, with a light reception to follow at St. Maron’s Cedars Hall. It is a magnificent experience for the whole family. Come and join us in the streets and in seven of our Churches proclaiming our love for Jesus in the Eucharistic. Let’s show the world the depth of our faith. There’s nothing like it in these United States. Come and see. Please park in the lots by St. Maron’s and St. Boniface on 7th and University and ride the shuttle bus to Holy Cross. You will then be parked where the procession will end. In case of rain, the procession and social will be held at St. Maron’s. Father Glen Jenson, Pastor |
