FATHER GLEN’S

THOUGHTS…..

This Sunday we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost, the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles to begin the Church’s active ministry of spreading the Gospel throughout the world.  The touch of the Spirit of God was enough to empower the frightened apostles to become bold and courageous evangelists who would endure anything, even death, to tell others about Jesus Christ.  Knowing how much the Holy Spirit can do in us if we actively seek his touch and presence in our hearts, let us daily ask him to invigorate us with his touch to empower us to bring Christian goodness to all whom we meet in our day.  May our joy be infectious to those around us and help to draw them to Jesus because of what they see in us.  May Our Lady, who was overshadowed by the Holy Spirit when she conceived Jesus by his power, help us with her prayers to ardently desire the touch of the Holy Spirit in our hearts each day.

This Sunday is our Northeast Eucharistic Procession.  There is nothing like it in our Archdiocese or anywhere in this state.  Come and enter into this marvelous Catholic Moment as we proclaim in our churches and in our streets our conviction about the reality of Jesus Christ present in the Eucharist and what he can do for anyone who comes to believe in him and his closeness to us in the Most Blessed Sacrament!  See details in the bulletin for where we begin and end and the parking and shuttle bus arrangements.

I had the wonderful blessing of being the grand prize winner at our festival at St. Hedwig’s last Sunday!  It really pays to purchase your festival tickets.  You never know when lightening will strike
