MESSAGE FROM FATHER JENSON Go make disciples and baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. The formula of baptism is taken from this Sunday’s Gospel reading from St. Matthew. The baptism formula has become the Sign of the Cross as well, the way in which we dial God and begin our prayers each time we pray. The baptism formula is quite simply, God’s full name. When we are baptized we are adopted by God, becoming his children, and bearing his complete name as a result. Our God is one, yet triune, in a miracle that transcends our ability to understand it. It is a mystery of our faith. Blessed be our awesome, triune God, the Blessed Trinity. Vacation Bible School: Watch for information in the bulletin on our first ever Northeast Vacation Bible School this summer. It will be open to children Pre-K through 5th grade from all our parishes in Northeast. It will take place the week of July 27 and run Monday through Friday in the morning. Vacation Bible School will be held on the campus of St. Boniface Parish. Stay tuned for more information about registration and for volunteer sign up. We will need quite a few people to help out. It should be a lot of fun, so consider joining up and helping the kids out. You’ll be glad you did. Eucharistic Procession: Next Sunday, June 14th from 3:00-5:00 PM, is the 5th Annual Northeast Eucharistic Procession. It begins at Holy Cross and ends at All Saints, with a light reception to follow at St. Maron’s Cedars Hall. It is a magnificent experience for the whole family. Come and join us in the streets and in seven of our Churches proclaiming our love for Jesus in the Eucharistic. Let’s show the world the depth of our faith. There’s nothing like it in these United States. Come and see. Father Glen Jenson, Pastor |
