SAVE ALUMINUM CANS - Please continue to save aluminum cans.  The monies raised from the recycling goes towards the “Church Painting Fund” and your help is appreciated.  Bags of aluminum cans (pop and beer only) can be put in the containers by the doors of the church or the garages behind the rectory.

THE HOLY CROSS “RUMMAGE SALE” (former Garage Sale) will be August 6, 7 & 8 - Wednesday through Friday.  Donations are needed!  Bring good, useable items that you no longer need.  Perhaps you can donate a box or a couple of bags of things you no longer use.  No clothing, TV’s or furniture.  Bring donations to the garages behind the rectory weekdays 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  Questions?  Call 612-789-7238 weekdays.

HELP CATHOLIC THEATER REACH WORLD YOUTH DAY in Australia this summer by attending a fundraising performance for Epiphany Studio Productions.  They’re scheduled to perform 2 plays 3 different times at WYD, impacting countless youth from around the world, but need to pay their way!  See one or both of these plays and support this effort: LOLEK at St. Victoria Church in Victoria, June 20 @ 7 PM; or LOLEK at Holy Spirit Church in St. Paul, June 26 @ 7:30 PM; or ALESSANDRO at Holy Spirit Church, June 27 @ 8:00 PM.  Tickets $15 all shows - available at the door.  Tickets also available at Holy Cross after the 10:00 Mass and before the 11:30 Mass on Sunday, June 8 at the University entrance.  Visit: or call 651-336-3302.

ADVENTURES IN MATTHEW: THE KING AND HIS KINGDOM - Holy Cross will offer this video series in a two year time frame on the first and third Sundays of each month, from October thru May.  Classes for 2008-2009 will be held in the church library Sunday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  The first class is scheduled for October 5.  The cost for course materials is $30 and materials will be delivered to you at the first class.  Call the church office (612-789-7238) to register for this class.   Registration deadline is Monday, September 8.

CELEBRATING 125 YEARS - Little Sisters of the Poor will celebrate 125 years of service to Minnesota’s elderly on Sunday, June 8th at with a Liturgy of the Eucharist celebrated by Archbishop Harry Flynn at 2:00 PM at the Cathedral of St. Paul.  After the liturgy there will be an Open House at Holy Family Residence, 330 Exchange Street South in St. Paul. 

SUMMER SPLASH - The Sisters of Notre Dame invite mothers and daughters (girls completing 6th, 7th or 8th grade) to Splash into summer for a little bonding time June 20-21, 2008 at 170 Good Counsel Hill, Mankato, MN.  Cost is $60 per pair.  Contact Sister Julie Brandt, 612-325-6199 to register or for more information.  The deadline to register is June 10th.

ASSISTIVE LISTENING DEVICES - Holy Cross Church is now equipped with a new hearing assistance system.  If you would like to benefit from our recently updated service, please ask for a receiver in the sacristy before Mass.  The system works with an individual ear piece and receiver pack.
