FATHER GLEN’S

THOUGHTS…..

In our Gospel this Sunday Jesus assures us that he will come back and reveal himself to those who believe in him and love him.  As the feast of the Ascension draws near next weekend, we realize that Jesus not only rose from the dead in his human body, but that he ascended into heaven in it as well.  Once he returned to the right hand of the Father he obtains the gift of the Holy Spirit for us.  Jesus does come to those who believe in him and love him and show this through keeping his teachings and commandments.

The closeness of Jesus is something that once felt is always desired.  Come early for mass and take time to sense his presence in church.  Come to our tri-parish adoration chapel at the Holy Cross convent and gaze upon him in a quiet sanctuary of peace.  Jesus does raise us up to himself in the spirit when we draw near to him.

May the Lord bless all those who have placed their lives in the service of our country in her armed forces, especially those who died while in uniform.  May they rest in peace.

Father Glen Jenson, Pastor

OFFICE CLOSED - The Parish office will be closed on Monday, May 30 in observance of Memorial Day.  The office will reopen on Tuesday, May 31 at 8:00 AM.

GLOBAL SOLIDARITY SUNDAY - Next Sunday has been designated Global Solidarity Sunday in our Archdiocese.  As it is a day when we celebrate Christ ascending and interceding for all creation, we also share this communion with our brothers and sisters throughout the world.  An outreach collection will be taken and distributed to four initiatives designated by the U.S. Catholic Bishops to aid the Church in Africa, Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe as well as humanitarian activities of Catholic Relief Services.  Your generosity will free the many gifts and talents of brothers and sisters overseas suffering from poverty, oppression, or lack of education.  Please be as generous as you are able.  Thank you.

DEVOTIONS - First Saturday Devotions will be held this Saturday, June 4, at Holy Cross at 7:45 AM with praying of the first three decades of the Rosary and Mass at 8:00 AM.  After Mass devotions will continue with the final two decades of the Rosary, prayer and meditation.

STAY CURRENT WITH HOLY CROSS EVENTS BY EMAIL.  Each week an update of events at Holy Cross will be sent to all interested via email.  To keep informed electronically, just send your email address to jgodlewski@comcast.net   Our email list will not be shared.
