Text Box: MESSAGE FROM
FATHER JENSON

This Sunday we celebrate the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord Jesus into heaven. The closeness of Jesus to us is made so clear by this event in that having saved us by dying in his humanity, he chose to return to heaven in his human body as well, there to remain forever God and man in one person. The Son of God is always united with us in heaven, and he is therefore always united with us on earth through his church which is his family through baptism. The Ascension assures us of his intense loving commitment to be with us throughout our lives on earth so that we can be with him forever in heaven. Never doubt the love of Jesus for you.

Next week First Communion will be held at St. Anthony Parish, the third and final First Communion in our tri-parish cluster. May God bless these children as they encounter their Lord Jesus in this deep way for the first time. May all our children who have received their First Holy Communion become close personal friends of Jesus and know the care of our Good Shepherd every day of their lives!

An old tradition returns at Holy Cross next weekend. On Sunday, May 23rd the blessing of cars and recreational vehicles will take place to seek the protection of Jesus for those who travel and vacation over the upcoming summer months. Sometimes, all things old are new again.

Father Glen Jenson, Pastor
