RUMAGE SALES

 

· Church of SS. Cyril and Methodius, 1315 Second Street N.E. in the church basement.  Wednesday, May 17th 4:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 18th 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Friday, May 19th 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. ($1.00 bag day).  Handicap accessible.

· St. John’s Church, 2201-3rd St N.E.  Thursday, May 18th 9:00-5:00, Friday, May 19th 9:00-5:00 and Sat. May 20th 9:00-1:00.  Bag Day is Saturday, May 20th.  Fill a bag for $3.00.  Refreshments available.

· St. Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral, 1701 Fifth Street N.E. during Art-A-Whirl weekend Friday and Saturday, May 19th and 20th.

YOU’RE INVITED...Open houses, tours, refreshments and door prizes!  Catholic Eldercare’s assisted living residence and adult day program will be participating in a one day city-wide event as part of Minnesota Good Age newspaper’s annual Senior Housing Showcase.  Plan to visit us on May 20th between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  River Village East assisted living at 2919 Randolph St. N.E., and Main Street Lodge assisted living at 909 Main Street N.E., and Catholic Eldercare “By Day” adult day program at 817 Main Street N.E.  Call Sue at 612-605-2515 if you have any questions or would like directions.

A BIG THANK YOU to all those parishioners who donated “Ramen” dried soup as part of our Lenten Almsgiving Project in March.  A total of 1900 soups were shipped to St. Anthony Parish in Sokolka, Poland.  This will feed 1900 people.  Thank you for your generosity!

ANNUAL SALAD LUNCH - The Women’s Club of St. Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral, 1701 Fifth Street N.E., is hosting their annual Salad Luncheon on Thursday, May 25 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Tickets are $8.00 each and may be purchased in advance by calling: Rhonda at 763-571-7862.  A limited number available at the door.

VESPERS AT SACRED HEART ROBBINSDALE - Solemn Vespers and a Eucharistic Procession will be celebrated on Sunday, May 21st at 4:00 p.m. at the Church of Sacred Heart, 4087 West Broadway Avenue, Robbinsdale.  Vespers (evening prayer) will be sung.  Join Bishop Pates and other priests and religious for this beautiful prayer.  Call 763-537-4561 for more information or directions.

ARE YOU SPRING CLEANING?  Do you have unwanted items that are still in good condition?  Pope John Paul II Catholic School is seeking donations for their 2nd annual “Trash & Treasure” sale.  The sale will be held on Saturday, May 20th, 9:00-2:30 in the parking lot on 16th Avenue.  Please bring items you’d like to donate to the school by Thursday, May 18th.  (Please note: We will not be selling clothing or electronics.)  Thank you for your support!

 

HOLY CROSS PARISH ACTIVITIES is sponsoring a trip to the Chanhassen Theater to see “Singin’ In the Rain” on Wednesday, June 28th.  Cost is $50.00 per ticket and includes Dinner, Show and Bus.  Deadline to sign up is May 20.

 

The date for Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” at the Ordway Theatre is Wednesday, December 20.  Also included will be “Snow Globes A-Glow” at Rice Park in St. Paul.  Cost for bus and show is $75.00 per person.

A JOB WELL DONE - Holy Cross Mother’s Club has disbanded after 85 years.  With declining membership we found it necessary to dissolve the group.  We thank you for the support you have show us throughout the years.
