YESTERDAY, TODAY & TOMORROW - EDUCATING THE NEXT GENERATION

MARIAN PILGRIMAGE - Two day Marian Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help, the 1st Catholic Church approved site in the U.S. located in Green Bay, WI, (plus going to two other sites) Monday and Tuesday, August 22 and 23.  Cost is $129.00 double occupancy.  Departs from All Saints parking lot.  For more information and reservations call Mary at 612-379-3093.

BENEFIT BANQUET - Bishop Alexander Sample of the Diocese of Marquette will speak on “Servant of God, Bishop Frederic Baraga, Example of Pope John Paul II’s New Evangelization” at the Catholic Servant Benefit Banquet, Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at St. Helena Church, 3204 East 43rd Street in Minneapolis.  Reception/silent auction,  catered dinner and program begin at 6:00 PM.  Tickets are $100 ($75 tax-deductible donation).  To register, call 763-502-0792.

JULIE “NICKEL” GREEN BENEFIT - Julie Nickel Green, wife, mother and grandmother was diagnosed with Stage 4 Mantle cell Lymphoma.  She has started chemotherapy and will be out of work 8-10 months.  A benefit in her honor to help her family with medical costs will be held on June 18, 2011 from 4-7 PM at Scoops Pub, 482 Northdale Blvd. in Coon Rapids.  Tickets - Adults $10 and Children 10 & under $5.  Cash donations accepted at any Wells Fargo Bank: Julie Green Benefit Account.  Julie is a 1974 graduate of N.E. Regional Catholic School.

CATHOLIC YOUTH CAMP - Catholic Youth Camp, located in McGregor, Minnesota since 1947 is now enrolling for Summer 2011.  Weekly sessions run through August 19th, 2011 for campers completing grades 1-12.  Enrich your faith, engage with new friends, and enjoy fun camp activities like swimming, fishing, dance, crafts, canoeing, archery and more!  Call 651-636-1645 or visit www.cycamp.org for information or to register.  “Planting seed of faith so kids can grow in purpose.”

WALK FOR LIFE - Support the University LifeCare Center (ULCC) at their 2011 Walk for Life on Saturday, May 14th from 10:00 AM to Noon at Como Park.  You can help by registering to walk and collecting pledges or by making a donation.  Walkers raise funds for ULCC by obtaining pledges in advance.  It’s easy and the center collects the pledged money for you.  Their goal is to raise $10,800 - that’s $300 for each of the 36 years they have been serving women and babies on campus.  Visit www.ulifecare.org to sign up to walk, make a donation or get more information.  Or call them at 612-623-3211.  Thank you for your support!

“A SONG TO REMEMBER” - This Technicolor film from the 1940’s depicting the life of Fredric Chopin will be shown on Sunday, May 15th at 2:00 PM at the historic Heights Theatre, 3951 Central Avenue N.E., Columbia Heights.  Sponsored by the Columbia Heights/Lomianki, Poland Sister Cities International Committee.  Tickets are $10.  Advance ticket available: Northeast Banks, Heights Theatre, Columbia Heights City Hall and Columbia Heights Safety Building.  Pre-movie entertainment will be provided by students from the St. Paul Conservatory of Music.
