THIS WEEKEND, May 1 & 2, after Mass in the sacristy, we will have registration for the 2004-2005 religion classes and First Communion preparation. It will only take a few minutes.

This registration includes:
All children who will attend public school and be in grades 1-8 next school year.
Children who will be in grade 2 in preparation for First Holy Communion whether they attend public school or Pope John Paul II Catholic School.

THE HOLY CROSS HOLY NAME, English Unit was honored when two of their members received recognition at the Archdiocesan Association of Holy Name Societies Annual Banquet which was held at Holy Cross on April 24. Joe Walker received a plaque as "Man of the Year." Len Urbaniak received the "Medallion Circle Award." This award is the most prestigious award given out by the Archdiocesan Association of Holy Name Societies. Congratulations to Joe and Len!

A "POLKAFEST" will be held at the Knights of Columbus, 4947 West Broadway, Crystal, MN on Friday, May 7th, 2004 from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. The Polkafest will have a band in each of the three ballrooms. POLISH AMERICAN CULTURAL Institute of Minnesota is offering a 3-day trip to Milwaukee and Chicago June 18- 20, 2004. The first night will be spent at Milwaukee's famous Polka Fest. THE POLANIE CLUB OF MINNEAPOLIS AND ST. PAUL is offering a limited number of $1000 scholarships for the academic year 2004-2005 to qualifying applicants of Polish-American ancestry who are Minnesota residents with a GPA of 3.0 or better. Scholarships will be available to those persons, ages 18-25 that are seeking financial aid for further education beyond high school. The deadline for students to submit their application is June 25, 2004. Applicants will be notified about the decision in July 2004.
