Text Box: MESSAGE FROM FATHER JENSON This Sunday is Good Shepherd Sunday and we hear Jesus in the Gospel say that we are his people, the sheep of his flock which he guides and takes care of. If we have living faith in him, no one can take us from him. Only we can separate ourselves from Jesus by wandering away from him by neglecting our relationship with him. We cannot truly believe in Jesus and not pray to him and come to worship him. Faith is a relationship with him, and relationships require time to be spent on nurturing them or else they become gradually more distant and can eventually become just a memory of what used to be. Only we can take ourselves away from Jesus. He is always there to be our shepherd and is always seeking us out. We pray especially for those adults newly joined to the church at Easter, our young people newly confirmed and those receiving their First Holy Communion, that they will find their relationship with Jesus growing deeper every day. May Our Lady obtain for us all the grace to be active in our relationship with Jesus so that he can truly shepherd us throughout all our lives and bring us at last to the glory of heaven. Alleluia! Students from Holy Cross and St. Hedwig’s have just received their Confirmation at the Basilica in each of the last two weeks. Second graders from St. Hedwig’s will receive First Holy Communion next Sunday, May 2nd. First Holy Communion at Holy Cross will be Sunday, May 9th and at St. Anthony’s on Saturday, May 22nd. Please pray for all these young Christians at this foundational time in their spiritual lives! Father Glen Jenson, Pastor

“THANKS MOM FOR LIFE” MOTHER’S DAY CORSAGES - The English Altar and Rosary Guild is sponsoring “Thanks Mom for Life” corsages for Mother’s Day.  Order your mom, grandmother, aunt or favorite lady a corsage.  Advance sales will be this weekend April 24 & 25 and next weekend May 1 & 2.  Buy a ticket that you exchange on Mother’s Day (May 8 & 9) for a lovely orchid corsage with attached pro-life message.  Donation is $5.00.  Tickets available at the church entrances.  Limited corsages available.  Proceeds to pro-life activities.

THE FAMILY OF PETER SERIE wishes to thank Father Glen, Sister Benita, Sister Donna, the organist, soloist and altar servers for the beautiful Mass for Peter and to Deacon John for doing the Prayer Service.  Thank you also to the Funeral Luncheon Committee and many friends and relatives for their prayers and acts of kindness.  We will be forever grateful.
