Text Box: BULLETIN CONNECTION

We read the Gospel story of Thomas today because the writer of John’s Gospel portrays the events as happening one week after Jesus’ resurrection and first appearance to the disciples. Thomas missed out on that first appearance.

We all know how it feels to be left out. It has happened enough times in each of our lives. We have some resentment, some sadness, even some anger. Thomas was no different. He just was not going to believe, until he saw the nail marks and touched the wounds.

The funny thing is, that no matter how important that was to Thomas, it doesn't make that much different for believers today. None of the newly baptized stomped around saying I’m not going to believe until I get to touch Jesus. Yet the risen Christ is just as real to them as he was to Thomas. They believe!

Please remember Holy Cross Parish

in your Will.
