Text Box: BULLETIN CONNECTION

Place today’s first reading from the Acts of the Apostles next to the Gospel reading from John and you will see the parallels. Jesus is speaking in metaphors and Peter is speaking about direct action, and they both have the same message: Salvation comes only through baptism in Jesus Christ. Jesus describes himself as both the shepherd who calls and leads and cares for his sheep, and as the gate through which the sheep enter to be saved. Three weeks ago, at the Easter Vigil, thousands of people all over the world were baptized, confirmed and called to the table of the Lord. Thousands more renewed the promises they had made at their own baptisms. These weren’t events for that single day. Perhaps the excitement has waned and the newness worn off, but the church proclaims the message as urgently as she did before Easter. We are saved by baptism in Christ Jesus.

55th Wedding Anniversary!

May God continue to bless you and your family.

ORGAN MAINTENANCE - For the next few weeks the pipe organ will be undergoing necessary maintenance.  The organ will be completely cleaned, the wind chests will be inspected, cleaned and lubricated and the reeds ((trumpet, oboe, etc.) will receive new tuning slides.  Once the work is finished, the organ will be completely tuned.  This work should ideally have been done right after the painting of the church was completed in November but the organ technician felt it best to wait until after the major church holidays of Christmas and Easter.
