FATHER GLEN’S THOUGHTS….. Our Gospel this Sunday is that of the transfiguration. Jesus appeared in shining glory to give Peter, James, and John a taste of his heavenly glory to strengthen them for the tragedy of his crucifixion so that they would not lose hope like Judas. This message is also for us. Jesus wants us to never lose hope in him no matter what is happening to us and he cares. As we move through Lent may our prayers, sacrifices and works of charity help us to gain trust in God’s love for us. Next weekend will be the great Close of Forty Hours Devotion at Holy Cross. This is a wonderful service that is very inspiring. There will be dozens of priests and deacons, a festival choir of great power, and liturgical beauty beyond what we usually see. I encourage you all to come and take part in this ceremony of honor for the Blessed Sacrament. There is a social to follow in Kolbe Hall. We still need volunteers to help with the Forty Hours Eucharistic Devotion. Thursday evening from 6:00 PM following the kickoff Mass for Forty Hours through the 10:00 PM hours, are in particular need. A few more people are still needed for the late night hours on Friday, but I am pleased at how many have signed up so far for these tough middle of the night hours. Early Saturday morning could use more help as well. Please call the church office or sign up in church after masses this weekend. God bless you all for helping with this great project.
