BULLETIN CONNECTION

We're walking with Jesus this week. Today we processed with palms. Thursday we process with the Blessed Sacrament. On Friday we will walk to the cross, and on Saturday we will walk with the light of Christ as we come to the foundation of rebirth.

Our walking is not wandering around the ancient city of Jerusalem as though we are reliving some historical event. Holy Week is not some Civil War reenactment. Holy Week is about now! It is celebrating the life of Christ today and what it means for us to be joined to him.

We're not pretending the feet we wash on Thursday night are Peter, James and John and all the rest. The feet we wash are signs of our willingness to serve. Today!

The cross we honor on Friday is not the wood on which Jesus was crucified. What we honor is the sign of God's eternal love. Today!

And the fire we gather around and water with which we baptize on Saturday are signs of everlasting light and life. Today!

THE GOSPEL OF MARK: An introductory commentary in accordance with Catholic Tradition and based on the teaching of Catholic saints and scholars. There will be three sessions in Kolbe Hall on Tuesday, April 5, 12 & 19 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Free admission. For more information call Greg Ignatik at 763-572-1361 after 6:00 PM.
