Envelopes/Plate: $6,691.50

Thank you!

THE CATHOLIC SERVICES APPEAL (CSA) gives back to Holy Cross 25% of our total donations.  If we reach our goal of $25,000, we will be refunded $6,250.  Please use the envelopes that were mailed to you or the ones at the doors of the church to make your donation.  Both Holy Cross and the archdiocese need your support.  Thus far we have received gifts and pledges totaling $12,141 or 49% of our goal.  The 2010 Catholic Services Appeal is more than just another collection.  It is the way by which every Catholic shares in the work of our Archdiocese and the mission of the Church.  Our work is providing Catholic Schools for our children, faith formation in our parishes, and with the guidance of Catholic Charities, we feed the poor.

Text Box: MESSAGE FROM
FATHER JENSON

In our readings this Sunday we see the Lord calling the people to repentance from sin that they might experience his blessings. If we come to saving faith we come into a relationship with God through his son Jesus that makes us his children and images of him in the world. To be a child of God is to be holy, as he is holy. During Lent as we live our program of spiritual growth through prayer, fasting and works of charity and almsgiving, we seek to grow in holiness. This is not something just for the season of Lent until Easter. Growing in holiness is something we must pursue if we would come to experience the fullness of God’s blessings here, and eternal happiness in heaven. The sacrament of Confession is an important part of pursuing holiness and if we examine our way of living closely before going to confession, we can find causes of our sinning and bring those to the healing grace of that sacrament. May this Lenten time of spiritual spring training bring us all to a more life transforming holiness. May our Lady help us in this with her prayers before her son Jesus each day.

There is the great Close of 40 Hours Devotion at Holy Cross this Sunday at 4:00PM with a reception to follow in Kolbe Hall. This is a service that is designed to lift the heart, mind and soul to experience the wonder and majesty of God. Bring your family and experience this powerful service of glory and praise of our great God!
