Text Box: BULLETIN CONNECTION

During this season of Lent we prepare for the paschal feast of Easter. For those of us who are baptized, we spend forty days reviewing how we have lived out our baptism in this world. We use the disciplines of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving to help us deepen our commitment to Christ. Our prayer draws us closer to the Lord. Our fasting helps us learn some detachment from this world. And our almsgiving propels us to do good deeds that will help our brothers and sisters in need.

Our actions are to be an example to those who are preparing for baptism. They are to learn from us how a Christian lives.

I would like to thank all those who sent me cards, gifts and best wishes on my 45th birthday, March 1st.  I appreciate your thoughtfulness and kindness.

Please remember Holy Cross Parish

in your Will.

THANKS TO THE GENEROSITY of many parishioners, to date we have pledges totaling $10,848.00 or 38% of our assigned goal of $28,263.00.  Each gift is important to the mission of our Archdiocese; it takes many people to form the Body of Christ.  No gift is too small.  Please return a pledge slip with your response today.

The special envelopes for the painting of the church are at all entrances to the Church.  They have a green border with the words “Church Painting Fund.”  Please use these envelopes to make donations as you desire.  In April this envelope will also be available in you monthly packet.  The goal for the painting of the north side of the church is $80,000.  Each week there is an update on the progress of this fundraising.  If the goal is reached quickly we may be able to continue painting on the south side aisle.

Mark you calendar:  Forty Hours Devotion of the Blessed Sacrament will be March 17, 18, 19 with the closing ceremony on Sunday, March 19 (Third Sunday of Lent) at 4:00 PM.
