SOUP SUPPERS - You are invited to join the English Altar and Rosary Guild for delicious Soup Suppers served on the Wednesdays during Lent from 4:30 to 7:00 PM in Kolbe Hall.  Enjoy homemade soup, bread, dessert, coffee or milk.  Adults $5.00, children $2.00.  Beer Cheese Soup will be served this week.

FISH FRY’S -  Holy Cross Church Fish Fry’s every Friday during Lent except for Good Friday, 5:00 to 7:00 PM in Kolbe Center.  Fish, French Fries or Baked Potato, Cole Slaw, Roll, Butter, Coffee or Milk.  Macaroni and Cheese also served.  Adults $10, under 12 - $5.00.

CELEBRATING 350 YEARS - In 2010, two of the most beloved Polish composers, Fryderyk Chopin and Ignacy Jan Paderewski, celebrate landmark birthdays. PACIM, with The Saint Paul Conservatory of Music and Wells Pianos, will present a concert featuring today’s piano prodigies of the Twin Cities at Holy Cross on today, February 28 at 1:30 PM.  Directly after the performance is a tea and cakes reception to meet the performers in Kolbe Hall. Tickets are $5 at www.pacim.org and will be available at the door.

 

MARK YOUR CALENDAR NOW  - Please join the Church of the Holy Cross in an organ recital of J.S. Bach’s organ pieces to honor the composer on the 325th anniversary of his birth.  Recitalists are:  Kraig Windschitl, Brad Schultz, Jeffrey Patry, John Salvenson and our church organist - Chris Brand.  The mini marathon will be held on Sunday, March 21st from 2:00 to 5:00 PM in the church.  Come when you can, stay as long as you like.

ENGLISH ROSARY GUILD BINGO -  The Holy Cross English Altar and Rosary Guild will sponsor a Ham and Cash Bingo on Sunday, March 21st from 2:00 to 5:00 PM in Kolbe Center.  All are welcome.

10TH ANNUAL SPIRITUAL ART SHOW - Northeast Minneapolis 10th Annual Spiritual Art Show at Elim Church, 685-13th Avenue N.E., Minneapolis Sunday, March 21st to Friday, March 26th 3:00-7:00 PM each day.  Free admission.  Details at http://sites.google.com/site/spargex.  Artist entry date: March 15th.  Entry details available at website.

BAKE SALE - Holy Cross will once again be having an All Parish Bake Sale on Saturday, March 27 after the 4:30 PM Mass and Sunday, March 28 after all morning Masses in Kolbe Center.  Mark your calendars and start looking for your favorite bake sale recipes!

JOURNEY OF FAITH is a mission course led by Paulist Father Bob O’Donnell of St. Lawrence Parish and Newman Center.  Renew your knowledge of Catholic basics and your enthusiasm to live and share our faith!  Join us for three Monday evenings in Lent - March 15, 22, 29 from 6:30 to 8:15 PM (with breaks and refreshments) at Church of All Saints, 435-4th Street N.E., (corner 4th Street & 5th Avenue). Handicapped accessible. Sponsored by Northeast Catholic parishes for all Catholics of our area and any interested neighbors and friends.  Come, learn, reflect and pray, as together we celebrate our gift of faith.  Free-will offering.  Refreshments at conclusion in Parish Center.

THANK YOU - The parish would like to thank the Polish Rosary Society for the donation of $1,069.00 from their Bake Sale and Raffle.  We are grateful for the generous gift which will be used for something needed in Church.

ALUMINUM CAN RECYCLING REMINDER - When you bring aluminum cans to Holy Cross for recycling, please be sure to only bring pop and beer cans.  Steel cans and/or glass should be recycled curbside at your home.  When you bring cans to church, place them in the plastic bins by the doors or leave them by the garage.  The Tuesday Toilers hauled the cans to the recycler last week and received $1,151.49.   Thank you!
