THE CATHOLIC SERVICES APPEAL supports the work of the Catholic Church by responding to the abundance of human needs in our diocese.  Your gift to the Appeal provides much needed help to those in need and is an opportunity to join a unified effort in our Archdiocese to advance the mission and ministry of the Catholic Church.  Take a moment to consider the many blessings that God has bestowed upon you and prayerfully consider what gifts you are able to share in support of the work of the Church.  The Archdiocese set a goal of $25,000 for Holy Cross Parish.  Thus far we have gifts and pledges of $9,474.00 or 38% of our goal.  Please consider pledging your support to this worthwhile endeavor.

LENTEN ALMSGIVING PROJECT - Thank you for your generous donation this weekend of food service items for People Serving People.  Next weekend, March 6 & 7, we will be collecting non-perishable food items for Senior Food Shelf for Hennepin County residents age 55+.

Text Box: MESSAGE FROM
FATHER JENSON

This weekend we have the Transfiguration in our Gospel reading. Jesus took Peter, James and John up the mountain and became dazzlingly bright as they beheld him. With him were Moses and Elijah, who represented the Old Testament law and the prophets. This vision was to give his apostles strength of belief in him by showing them that the one who had given them the law and inspired the prophets was standing there before them in dazzling brightness.

May this vision of our Lord Jesus have the effect in our lives of strengthening our faith when it is under trial so that we can overcome any temptation or suffering. This hint of his heavenly glory should help give each of us reason to hang in close with the Lord when life tries to tear us away from him. He is truly worthy of believing in and obeying. Praised by Jesus Christ!

Father Glen Jenson, Pastor
