FATHER GLEN’S THOUGHTS….. Our readings this Sunday speak of trust in God. The prophet Isaiah says in our first reading that even if a mother could forget her child or be without tenderness for her child, God will never forget or cease to care for us. What a wonderful thing to realize that God cares for us like a mother cares for her own child. This deep love of God for us is the reason for our trust or confidence in life. Our God cares for us always. Never let what’s going on in your life keep you from trusting that God cares for you. The Catholic Services Appeal is coming up shortly. You will be receiving information in the mail very soon. This appeal is not part of the regular budget of the Archdiocese but is earmarked to the support of numerous important ministries over and above what the Archdiocese can give to them from their regular income. Among others things, the Catholic Services Appeal supports the seminary and Catholic schools such as our own Pope John Paul II School. Father Glen Jenson, Pastor |

THANK YOU to the Holy Cross Polish Committee for the gift of $500.00 to the parish. Thank you also to the English Rosary Guild for the gift of $668.00 from their recent fund raisers. The financial support of the parish organizations helps to meet our many expenses. Your generosity is appreciated and the gifts most welcome. |
CATHOLIC SERVICES APPEAL The Catholic Services Appeal is a primary source for funding the shared ministries of the local Church. These shared ministries include: · Education and formation of 62 seminarians who will become our priests; caring for the spiritual and sacramental needs of our Archdiocesan family. · Providing need-based tuition assistance to hundreds of families who yearn for a Catholic education but cannot afford it. · Supporting the Archdiocesan mission in Venezuela by providing two of our priests to serve a parish of 65,000. · Sustaining countless parish ministries that serve local individuals and families through the 25% parish rebate. · Providing more than $1.1 million to Catholic Charities programs including: family services, prenatal and parenting programs, food and shelter for the homeless and hungry, senior services, refugee support and adoption. · Assisting the marriage and family ministries that support individuals and families from the beginning through the end of life. · Supporting Byrne Residence, a house for our retired priests. |
