LENTEN SCHEDULE -

 

WEEKDAY MASSES during Lent will be at 6:45 AM and 5:30 PM.

 

STATIONS OF THE CROSS - Stations of the Cross with Benediction will be on Friday evenings in English at 6:00 PM and Polish at 7:00 PM.

MEN’S CLUB BREAKFAST - The St. Cyril’s Slovak Men’s Club will be holding their Scrambled Egg-Ham-Potato Breakfast TODAY - Feb. 25, from 8:00 to 11:30 AM St. Cyril’s Church basement, 2nd St. & 13th Ave N.E.  Adults $5.00; 6 thru 12 $3.00; 5 and under FREE.  The church basement is Handicap Accessible.

SOUP SUPPERS - The first Soup Supper sponsored by the English Rosary Guild will be this Wednesday, February 28th from 4:30 to 7:00 PM in Kolbe Center.  Come and enjoy Homemade Soup, Bread, Dessert, Coffee or milk.  Adults $4.00 and Children $2.00.  All proceeds go to feed the hungry at local charities.  This week’s soup is Chicken Noodle.

PARISH ALMSGIVING PROJECT - Thank you for the very generous donations of personal care items for Sharing and Caring Hands.  Next week we will be collecting Food Service products - napkins, plastic silverware, cups, Styrofoam (sturdy) plates, paper towels, diapers, baby formula, and any size blankets for People Serving People - emergency housing.

FISH FRYS - The Educational Task Force will again sponsor their “All You Can Eat” Fish Fry every Friday during Lent.  Menu includes: Fish, French Fries, Baked Potato, Cole Slaw, roll, coffee or milk.  Macaroni & cheese available. Adults $8.00, children under 12 - $4.00.

FIRST SATURDAY DEVOTIONS - First Saturday Devotions will be this Saturday, March 3rd at Holy Cross at 7:45 AM with praying of the first three decades of the Rosary and Mass at 8:00 AM.  After Mass our devotions will continue with praying of the final two decades of the Rosary, prayer and meditation.

FESTIVAL CHOIR - Exultate’s Festival Choir and Orchestra of more than 100 musicians will present Emmanuel - with us+for us+in us, a unique work made up of movements from large choral/orchestral compositions by Bach, Brahms, Handel, Mendelssohn and Mozart.  Concerts are March 3 - Lake Nokomis Lutheran, Mpls. 7:30 PM and Sunday, March 4 - Bethel College, Benson Great Hall, Roseville 4:00 PM.  For tickets 651-707-0727 (also available at the door).

IRVING BERLIN’S EASTER PARADE - Holy Cross Parish Activities has 9 openings left to see Irving Berlin’s musical Easter Parade at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre on Wed., April 11.  Cost is $59.00 per person and includes dinner, show and coach.  Coach leaves at 5:15 PM from Holy Cross.  Reservations must be in by March 12th.  Call Joan at 612-379-4488.  Payment can be made by putting your check in an envelope marked “Parish Activities” and dropping it in the Sunday collection.

WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN HELPING MAKE A N.E. QUILT?  No sewing skills needed!  Come to Eastside Neighborhood Services, 1700 - 2nd St. N.E. on Wednesday, March 7th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.  Families, church groups, civic groups and individuals are all invited to participate.  It will be a great way to meet your neighbors in the relaxed atmosphere of quilting.  Join in the fun.  Sponsored by the N.E. Discovery Café and the N.E. Harvest Gathering Group.

Holy Cross Church is going to sponsor an “All Parish Bake Sale” to benefit the Church Painting Project on Palm Sunday weekend March 31 after 4:30 Mass and Sunday, April 1 after all morning Masses.
