EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

 

In the desert JESUS fasted for forty days, and was tempted by the devil.  We all struggle with temptations.  “Blessed is the person who perseveres in temptation, for when we have been proved we will receive the crown of life that JESUS promised to those who loves HIM. (Jas. 1:12)

 

JESUS teaches us to have great confidence - visit HIM in the Adoration Chapel.

SOUP SUPPERS -  You are invited to join the English Rosary Guild for delicious Soup Suppers served on the Wednesdays during Lent from 4:30 to 7:30 PM in Kolbe Hall.  Enjoy home-made soup, bread, dessert, coffee or milk.  Adults $4.00, children $2.00.  This week Chicken Soup will be served.

SCRAMBLED EGG-HAM-POTATO BREAKFAST - The St. Cyril’s Men’s Club is having their Scrambled Egg-Ham-Potato Breakfast TODAY, February 24 from 8:00 to 11:30 AM St. Cyril’s Church Basement, 2nd Street & 13th Avenue N.E.  Adults $5.00, Children 5 and under FREE.  Handicap accessible.

THE LIGHT WEIGH AT HOLY CROSS - Are you tired of constantly struggling with your weight?  Tired of following diets like they were religions?  Consider giving God a chance to touch your heart, your life and your eating.  A “Light Weigh” orientation will be held on Monday, February 25 at 5:30 PM in the Parish Library located in the school basement (use the blue door).  Come find out about The Light Weigh Bible Study and video series.  For more information check out their website at www.lightweigh.com

PEACE MASS - St. Anthony of Padua, 805 Main Street N.E., Minneapolis, will be the host of the next Peace Mass on Wednesday, February 27, 2008.  Rosary begins at 6:30 PM, Peace Mass at 7:00 PM.  Receive a copy of the message given by the Blessed Virgin Mary at Medjugorje on the 25th of each month.  Refreshments follow.

DEVOTIONS - First Saturday Devotions will be held this Saturday, March 1 at Holy Cross Church with praying of the first three decades of the Rosary and Mass at 8:00 AM.  After Mass our devotions will continue with the praying of the final two decades of the Rosary, prayer and meditation.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY You are invited to join us - all skills are needed (sew, crochet, knit, fleece tie, sewing labels).  We meet the last Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM in the Parish Library.  If you would like to work at home, just stop by a meeting to see the shawls and to get copies of prayers, patterns/ideas and size guidelines.  For more information, contact the Parish Office at 612-789-7238 or Mary at 612-379-4090.

THE PASSION STORY IN GOSPELS -  Scripture Scholar Sr. Shannon Schrein, OSF, Ph.D. presents “Christ Crucified, Our King of Kings: The Passion Story in Gospels” Thursday, March 13, 2008, 7:00-8:30 PM at All Saints Catholic Church, 435 Fourth St. N.E., Minneapolis.  This presentation will reflect on the story of Jesus’ passion and death as it has been remembered and recorded by the Gospel writers.  Each of the Evangelists offers deeper insights into Christ’s Ultimate Gift and helps us to reflect on the meaning of Jesus’ sacrifice for our lives.
