Text Box: BULLETIN CONNECTION

If a desert town is lucky enough to have a well, as the town of Sychar did, that well is a hub of activity where people can meet, catch up on news and even gossip. Except at noon - no one goes out at noon in the desert. The Samaritan woman who arrived then must have been dismayed to see Jesus at the well. If she came to draw water at noon she did it to avoid the other women, and after we hear her story of five husbands and a live-in lover, we understand why.

What an unlikely evangelist she was! Jesus amazes her by saying he has water that can slake her thirst forever. He tells her he knows all her secrets. But did she run from him or keep her visit a secret? No. She ran to the people she had been avoiding and told them all about Jesus. They came to believe, first because of her, then, as with all good evangelizers, their faith went beyond her. They came to believe in Jesus because they heard him for themselves.

Who first led you to learn about Jesus?
Why do you follow Him now?

ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL - Our help to make Jesus Christ known and loved. Thanks to the generosity of many parishioners, to date we have gifts totaling $13,639.00 which is 48% of our parish goal of $28,263.00.  Your prayers for the success of the Annual Catholic Appeal and the ministries it supports are still needed, as are pledges and gifts.  Each gift is important to the mission of our Archdiocese; it takes many people to form the Body of Christ.  Holy Cross Parish receives 25% of all gifts made through the parish for our educational programs.  Your gift helps both the archdiocese and Holy Cross Parish.

FORTY HOURS CLOSING - The Closing Service for our Forty Hours Devotion is at 4:00 PM TODAY - February 24.  Father Michael Creagan from Sacred Heart Church in Robbinsdale will be the homilist.  Music will be provided by combined choirs from several parishes.  Please join us for this beautiful service.  A Wine and Cheese Social will follow in Kolbe Center.  Everyone is welcome.

Please remember Holy Cross Parish

in your Will.
