Text Box: MESSAGE FROM
FATHER JENSON

In our Gospel this Sunday we hear the Lord commissioning the apostles to become fishers of men. Many of the apostles were fishermen by trade, ordinary men with ordinary jobs. Yet the Lord Jesus considered them to be suitable to become preachers of the Word of God and the first priests of the Church Jesus came to establish. No matter what we may think of ourselves, or others, no one is too lowly or unimportant to serve the Lord in any way that he calls us. Godís grace can enable anyone to be a servant of the Lord.

Let us pray that those the Lord is calling to serve him in the priesthood and religious life will open their hearts to the call of the Lord and be willing to be put out into the deep waters of service in the Church, undaunted by self doubt or fear of not being capable. It is a fascinating life!

This weekend is the kick off for the Catholic Services Appeal. This is a very important means of supporting many of the ministries and services provided by the Church around the Archdiocese, including our schools and the seminary. Please be as generous as you can.
