Text Box: MESSAGE FROM
FATHER JENSON

The Lord casts out demons from the possessed in our Gospel this weekend. Jesus came to take away the power of evil from our lives which breeds sin and division amongst us. For Him to do that for us, we must commit to Him and follow His teaching and example. We must be people of prayer who bring the items that we see in the news into our daily prayers for the world and its needs, especially now as our country seems to be slipping into a recession. As a new administration takes up office we should also be holding up our newly elected government officials in prayer as well. Pray that they will seek the wisdom of God to know best how to determine the genuine needs of the people and how to serve them in a way that is in accord with God’s will.

The post card campaign initiated by our nation’s bishops to help inform our elected officials about the people’s desire to retain laws which currently attempt to protect the life of the unborn is another example of seeking to help to serve God’s will by helping our government officials realize the sentiments of those who elected them concerning the protection of human life at all its fragile stages, especially the unborn. Post cards will be available at church when we receive them. There has been a glitch in receiving them at some of our parishes.

CANA EVENING - All married couples are invited to a Celebration of the Sacrament of Marriage on Saturday, February 14.  The evening will begin with Mass at 4:30 PM followed by dinner in Kolbe Hall, speaker and social.  Come and celebrate your Marriage, whether it has been one month or 70 years since your wedding day!  Bring a framed photo from your wedding if possible.  Tickets are $25.00/couple and available at the University entrance to church on weekends or call 612-789-7238 weekdays.

BE CAUTIOUS - In the past we have cautioned people that not everyone comes to church to pray.  You are reminded to use discretion here and elsewhere.  When you are at Mass, take your purse with you to communion and/or do not bring valuables to church.  If you are at an evening mass or meeting after dusk, park in the Holy Cross lots and exit with others.  If you see anything suspicious, return to the building.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Eucharistic Adoration is our response to JESUS’ love for us, whereby each of us is willing to spend quiet time in HIS Eucharistic Presence.  JESUS said “Come to me all of you who are weary and find life burdensome, and I will refresh you.”

Check out the Adoration Chapel - Receive HIS peace - Receive HIS blessings.  Visit JESUS with your love and adoration.  HE is waiting!  Open Hour: Monday 11:00 AM
