OPEN HOUSE/Kindergarten Night - Thursday, January 29, 6:00 to 7:30 PM.  Register for the 2009-10 school year.

GENERATION DAY - Friday, January 30th.  Families come join your student for lunch and visit classrooms.

SPAGHETTI DINNER & Raffles - Saturday, February 7, 4:30 to 7:00 PM in Kolbe Hall.

SAUERKRAUT SUPPER - The Annual Sauerkraut Supper sponsored by the Parish Activities Committee will be on Tuesday, February 24th from 4:00-7:00 PM in the school auditorium.  Music by John Filipczak from 4:00-8:00 PM in Kolbe Center. 

SAUERKRAUT SUPPER - Help is needed in the dining room, kitchen and with the downstairs refreshments at the Sauerkraut Supper.  Men are needed to help with large kettles.  Call the Parish Office weekdays at 612-789-7238.

PRAYER SHAWL - You are invited to join us - all skills are needed (sew, crochet, knit, fleece tie, sewing labels).  We meet on Tuesday, January 27th at 6:30 PM in the Parish Library.  If you would like to work at home, just stop by a meeting to see the shawls and get copies of prayers, patterns/ideas and size guidelines.  For more information contact the Parish Office at 612-789-7238 or Mary at 612-379-4090.

DAY OF RECOLLECTION FOR CAREGIVERS - Treat yourself to a quiet spiritual day of renewal on Saturday, February 14, 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 9100-93rd Avenue North in Brooklyn Park.  “Caregiver” means anyone who lives, works or regularly visits persons with serious illness or disabilities. This special event will include the celebration of Mass, prayer, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  Cost is $10 and lunch will be provided.  For information or to register (by Feb. 4) call Deacon Sean or Joan Curtan at 651-291-4543.

BAPTISM CLASSES - Baptism class is required for parents and Godparents before the desired date.  If you are planning to attend a class, you will need to call the Holy Cross Parish Office at 612-789-7238 to register.  Baptism class is held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at St. Hedwig’s River Village, 29th & Randolph St. N.E.  The next class is Tues., February 10.

COFFEE & DONUTS - February 8 will be Coffee & Donut Sunday after all morning Masses in Kolbe Center.  This is a great opportunity to stop down after Mass and visit with fellow parishioners.  Everyone is welcome.

BAKE SALE - The Polish Rosary Society will host a Bake Sale and Raffle on Saturday, February 7 after the 4:30 PM Mass in Kennedy Hall and Sunday, February 8 after all morning Masses in Kolbe Hall.  Donations from parishioners will be greatly appreciated and may be brought to Kennedy Hall after 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 7.

PEACE MASS - Holy Cross will be the host of the next Peace Mass on Tuesday, January 27th.  Rosary at 6:30 PM; Mass at 7:00 PM.  Receive a copy of the message given to the Blessed Virgin Mary at Medjugorje on the 25th of every month.

HELP - Please consider becoming a Lector and/or Eucharistic Minister.  We are in need of more Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors to minister at Holy Cross.  We can work around your schedule.  If you are interested or have questions, give Janice a call weekdays at 612-789-7238. 

HOLY CROSS FISH FRY’S RETURN!  Father Glen is organizing the return of Lenten Fish Fry’s at Holy Cross.  Everyone’s help is needed to insure that there are enough workers for the set-up, dining room and kitchen.  There are worker sign-up sheets for the first six Fridays of Lent at the University Avenue entrance of church.  No Fish Fry on Good Friday.  Please help.  Please sign up!
