ANNIVERSARY

125TH ANNIVERSARY NOTE CARDS are now available.  An original water-color painting of the church by artist Darlene Dusenka has been reproduced on 5 x 7” note cards.  Inside of the card is blank.  Cards are $1.00 each and can be purchased weekdays at the parish office.

“HONOR YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW” by ordering your personalized Brass Plaque for the HALL OF FAITH located behind the Kolbe Hall kitchen.  Cost of each plaque is $125.00 with all proceeds going to help cover Anniversary year expenses at Holy Cross.  Order sheets are at the doors of church.  The plaques are 5 1/2” square and can be customized with any message you choose.  Sample phrases include:

FAMILY GAME NIGHT Saturday, January 29.  Join us  in Kolbe Hall after 4:30 Mass for 125 Minutes of games.  Kids - there must be lots of games that you are the best at!  Evening includes dinner, games and prizes!  Bring your favorite board game!  Enter for a chance to win a movie gift basket.  Please sign up at the back of church and let us know that you’ll be joining us!  You can also sign up by calling the parish office weekdays at 612-789-7238.

CANA CELEBRATION for married couples will be Saturday, February 19.  Evening begins with Mass at 4:30 PM in Church.  Following will be a social in Kolbe Hall, Chicken & Beef Dinner, Speaker and Entertainment.  Tickets are $35.00/couple and available at the parish office weekdays 612-789-7238, at 612-788-0869 or by email at dehlernk@aol.com. What is a Cana Dinner?  The wedding feast at Cana was the occasion of Christ’s first miracle.  The celebration  emphasizes the sacred importance our Lord gives to marriage.

125 MINUTES of ADULT GAMES will be Friday, March 4 in Kolbe Hall.  This will be great evening of card games, board games, etc.  

MARCH LENTEN GIVING CHALLENGE - Bring in 125% more in contributions for our Lenten Almsgiving.   Charities include Sharing & Caring Hands, St. Joseph’s Home, local food shelf, etc.

ARCHDIOCESAN NEWLY MARRIED RETREAT WITH BISHOP PICHÈ Saturday, February 5th, 2011 from 9:00 AM until 2:30 PM at St. Charles Borromeo in St. Anthony.  Bishop Pichè will speak at this year’s annual retreat for Newly Married Couples (0-7 years).  Registration forms may be found online at www.archspm.org or by calling the Family Life Office at 651-291-4488.  $35 per couple; $40 after February 1st - lunch included.

VIGIL OF REPARATION - The World Apostolate of Fatima, Archdiocese of St. Paul/Minneapolis is sponsoring a Vigil of Reparation on Friday & Saturday, February 4 & 5, 2011, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 380 Roselawn Ave. East in Maplewood.  The new schedule begins at 7:00 PM with Rosary and ends with Mass at 12:00 AM.  Contact: Cynthia at 651-772-2221.

PRAYER SHAWL - The Holy Cross Prayer Shawl Ministry Group meets the last Tuesday,   of the month at 6:30 PM in the Parish Library.  Your skills (sew, crochet, knit, fleece tie or sewing labels) are needed.  If you would like to work at home, stop by a meeting and see the shawls and get copies of prayers, patterns/ideas and size guidelines.  For more information call the Parish Office at 612-789-7238 or Mary at 612-379-4090.  Please join us on Tuesday, January 25th and check this Ministry out.
